Michael Owen has predicted on Colossusbets.com that Liverpool will drop points in the Premier League this weekend.
The Merseyside outfit will take on Bournemouth away from home at Dean Court in the league on Sunday afternoon.
Former Liverpool striker Owen believes that Jurgen Klopp’s side will fail to win the Premier League game.
“Liverpool have really upped their game in recent matches and they are another team in with a shout of European football if they finish their league campaign strongly,” the former England international wrote on Colossusbets.com.
“But, again, it is clearly not ideal that they play here so soon after their Thursday night match against Dortmund at Anfield, and I take Bournemouth – amazingly, up to 11th in the league following their 2-1 win at whipping boys Villa last weekend – to get something out of this.
“I go Any Other Draw (AOD), even if their two previous meetings this season ended 1-0 to Liverpool.”
Liverpool have a better team than Bournemouth, but the Cherries are at home and that is certainly going to help them.
Eddie Howe’s side are safe from relegation to the Championship, and that will allow them to play with freedom.
The Reds’ chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League are over, and there is a very good chance that they will drop two points at Dean Court.
Liverpool will head into the game against Bournemouth on the back of a 4-3 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Anfield in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final tie.
Bournemouth won 2-1 against Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League last weekend.
