Rangers forward Martyn Waghorn will not feature for the Ibrox side in the Scottish Cup semi-finals this weekend.

Rangers forward Martyn Waghorn has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his disappointment at missing out on the clash against Celtic this weekend.

Waghorn will not recover from his knee injury in time for the Scottish Cup semi-final tie between Rangers and Celtic at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Manager Mark Warburton has been quoted as saying by Sportinglife.com that the 26-year-old forward will not be fit for the game on Sunday afternoon.

The former Sunderland and Leicester City forward has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at missing out on the chance to play for the Gers against the Hoops in the Old Firm clash.

Waghorn has been out of action since damaging ligaments on Kilmarnock's plastic pitch back in February, but he has resumed light training.

The Englishman is arguably the best striker in the Scottish Championship, and his presence in the squad would have enhanced Rangers’ chances of winning the game against Celtic.
