Don Hutchison and Neil Mellor reactor on Twitter to Liverpool drawing Villarreal

The two sides have been drawn in the Europa League semi finals.

After Liverpool’s miraculous comeback against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday evening, eyes quickly turned to the Europa League draw on Friday.

Who the Reds could draw for their semi final was eagerly anticipated, with Spanish sides Sevilla and Villarreal and Ukrainians Shakhtar Donetsk the possible opponents.

Of that trio, it was arguably Sevilla that Jurgen Klopp’s side were keen to avoid given they have won the tournament for the last two seasons running.

And it transpired that they would, as they instead drew La Liga side Villarreal in the last four.

With the first leg an away one, there could be another famous Anfield night on the cards, and both Hutchison and Mellor took a similar stance in their reactions.

Despite Villarreal having gone winless in their last 10 games against English sides, it is not a tie that will be easy for Liverpool.

Of the teams left in the competition Villareal have scored the most goals, having managed an average of 1.7 per game so far. In contrast, the Reds have a tally of 1.3

Their danger man is Cedric Bakambu, who has managed nine goals so far and will be keen to add to that tally.
