Stoke's German defender Philipp Wollscheid is wanted back in his homeland, a report claims.
Wollscheid has impressed since arriving in Staffordshire last year, initially on loan.
And the Potters made the former Bayer Leverkusen centre-back's deal permanent in the summer, at a reported cost of £2.75 million.
Gladbach are currently fifth in the Bundesliga but only three points off a Champions League place with five games remaining.
Recent reports claimed the German side could lose star centre-back Andreas Christensen this summer, with Chelsea considering cutting short his two-year loan spell.
However, according to the London Evening Standard at least, the Blues will allow the Dane to see out his deal at Borussia-Park, despite alleged interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Wollscheid has kept 10 clean sheets in 28 appearances for Mark Hughes' side this season, and the Sun claims Stoke are likely to reject any offers.
The 27-year-old has won two caps for Germany, but none since 2013 and a return home could put him back in Joachim Low's thoughts.
