Darren Randolph 7 - made superb saves to deny Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard in the first half, and had little chance with either of the two goals. Decisive and quick off his line in a decent display, in what was just his 12th start for the club.
Michail Antonio 5 - credit to the winger, he's filled in admirably at right back, but this seemed like the night where that stint ended. Antonio gave the ball away for the opening goal and looked all at sea for the second, and it's clear that Bilic must move him back to his usual role on the wing when he can.
James Tomkins 7 - made a superb block in the first half but had problems with the power and pace of Marcus Rashford, including for the first goal. Then put his body on the line to pull West Ham back into the game with a fine header.
Angelo Ogbonna 7 - a solid performance from the Italian who wasn't really to blame for either of United's goals, and made his claim for a starting role against Leicester City this weekend.
Aaron Cresswell 6 - a few overhit crosses which missed the mark before finding Andy Carroll with an inch-perfect cross, but worked hard up and down the left hand side with little help defensively.
Mark Noble 6 - couldn't control the midfield, and then hit a terrible volley from long range in the dying seconds when West Ham needed a goal.
Cheikhou Kouyate 6 - had a great chance to equalise late on but fired straight at David De Gea. Then headed the ball past De Gea, but had that goal chalked off. A frustrating night for the giant midfielder.
Enner Valencia 5 - squandered two great chances with tame finishes, and whilst he looked bright early on, the Ecuadorian faded and was virtually anonymous for the rest of the game, before being substituted for Victor Moses just past the hour mark.
Dimitri Payet 6 - a few bright moments, but his set pieces fell short of the mark and he wasn't quite as influential as we know he can be.
Manuel Lanzini 5 - a disappointing display from the Argentinian, who produced a couple of tricks and flicks before being substituted for Emenike in the second half.
Andy Carroll 6 - was frustrated for long spells before coming alive late on. Produced a great header to set up Tomkins' consolation, and went close with a header himself shortly after.
Victor Moses 6 - West Ham looked better when he came on, but had a shot blocked from long range when he had options available.
Emmanuel Emenike 5 - blazed a shot high and wide from a narrow angle in a fairly uneventful cameo role.
Who did you think was West Ham's man of the match against Manchester United?
