Paul Ince praises the quality in Everton's squad

Everton have badly unperformed throughout the season so far.

Paul Ince has praised the quality of Everton’s squad on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 14th April.

Everton have underperformed badly this season, and they currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League table.

However, the Toffees are due to meet Ince’s former side, Manchester United, in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, and he is expecting a close encounter.

“The lad Lukaku up-front has been outstanding again,” Ince said. “20 goals for a young kid! People forget that he’s still a young kid. And then they have McCarthy in there, with Barkley and Lennon. You could go on with how many good players are in Everton’s side. It’s not a forgone conclusion.”

United made it into the FA Cup semi-final by beating West Ham United 2-1 at Upton Park last night.

In that contest, the Red Devils had looked strong but, much like West Ham, they have largely disappointed this term.

The two side’s seasons are now likely to be defined by the result of the match at Wembley.

With the pressure on both Roberto Martinez and Louis van Gaal, it could well be that failure in the FA Cup would cost them their respective jobs.

The winner of Everton’s match against United, will come up against either Crystal Palace or Watford in the final.
