Could these two stars be trading places at West Ham this summer?

Two genuine stars could be set to trade places at West Ham United this summer as transfer speculation intensifies.

The Hammers are flying high in the Premier League this season and are mounting a serious bid for Champions League football.

Slaven Bilic has reinvigorated the East Londoners and with stars such as Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini, the Hammers are playing the 'West Ham way' again and getting results too.

West Ham's surge has gone somewhat under the radar given Leicester City's fairytale title tilt.

But recent performances have seen Bilic's side tipped by many to make it into the top four for the first time in the Premier League era.

Speculation intensifies

With the plaudits and the club's impending move to the 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium looming large this summer has come the inevitable headlines and speculation.

When Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced he could well be arriving in the Premier League this season, West Ham was one of his rumoured destinations, as reported by the likes of The Sun.

But fresh reports from French outlet Fichajes.net claim that might not be the only deal struck between Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham this summer.

PSG want Hammers hero

It is claimed the Paris outfit want to bring new Hammers hero Dimitri Payet back to his homeland and that initial inquiries have already been made.

According to Fichajes.net, the Parisians are aware that their team will change a lot this summer with a number of departures of players who have been instrumental in the successes of recent years such as Ibrahimovic.

The report says PSG want to sign two new world stars and two or three players of the next level.

We've got Payet... for now

It is easy to see why PSG would want Payet as he knows Ligue 1 well having spent his entire career there until signing for West Ham last summer.

He has also been one of the great revelations in the Premier League and indeed across Europe this season.

The Hammers will undoubtedly be looking for top dollar for their star man, who at 29 may feel this is his last chance to regularly compete at the highest level should the Irons not make the Champions League.

West Ham fans would be devastated to see their talisman leave so soon and taking Ibrahimovic on a free transfer in the other direction would do little to soften the blow.
