Aaron Ramsey names his ultimate XI and one current Arsenal star makes the cut

Former Liverpool and Manchester United stars Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand are also in.

Aaron Ramsey has named his Ultimate XI to Arsenal’s official YouTube channel, and it is bad news for his current teammates.

Despite the Gunners boasting stars such as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in their current team, neither make the Welshman’s all time XI.

Instead, only one current Gunners star makes the cut, as he opts to name goalkeeper Petr Cech, a signing from Chelsea last summer, in his perfect team.

The Czech goalkeeper gets in ahead of a plethora of other greats, with Ramsey telling the YouTube video he “has been outstanding this season”.

At right back he opts for Bayern Munich and Germany legend Philipp Lahm, while Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos is in at left back.

At centre back it is former Manchester United man Rio Ferdinand, alongside Italy great Fabio Cannavaro.

In a three-man midfield, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is partnered by La Liga greats Zinedine Zidane and current Barcelona star Andres Iniesta, with the former Liverpool captain presumably being asked to do most of the defensive work.

Up front it is a formidable trio as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Arsenal’s own Thierry Henry making up a mouth-watering front three.
