Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Gremio midfielder Walace Souza Silva, report Tuttomercatoweb.
Known simply as Walace, the 21-year-old is a Brazilian youth international, having represented his country at under-21 and under-23 levels.
Tuttomercatoweb report Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino is keen on the player, who is said to have been close to signing for Fiorentina last season.
Walace is a defensive midfielder who has a contract with Gremio until 2018, and came through the club's academy system.
A work permit could prove a sticking point for Walace, who does not hold a European passport.
If he was successful, then at Tottenham he would be competing with Ryan Mason, Tom Carroll and Nabil Bentaleb, who are all battling to force their way into a midfield dominated by Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier.
