Ray Parlour backs Neil Warnock for the Aston Villa vacancy

The Rotherham United boss has performed miracles with the Millers recently.

Rotherham United look like pulling off a miracle of survival in the Championship and it is all down to the impact of Neil Warnock.

The former QPR and Leeds United boss has worked wonders at the New York Stadium since taking the Millers job and they are now looking odds-on to stay in the Championship.

Less can be said of Aston Villa’s survival chances in the Premier League.

Norwich City’s failure to hold out against Crystal Palace last weekend gave Villa a stay of execution for now but they look set for the drop.

The club are currently without a manager after the sacking of Remi Garde – but could Warnock be the man to replace him?

Speaking to talkSPORT earlier today (13/04/2016) it certainly seems that he has the backing of former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour. He had this to say on Warnock’s next role potentially being at Villa:

“What he is doing at Rotherham now it is amazing.

“Why not? He knows the league. He knows the league so well and I am sure Neil would keep all his options open. He has got a contract until the end of the season, although I am sure now Rotherham are trying to sign him up.

“A lot of clubs have got to look at Neil in that Championship and say he might be the man to take us into the Premier League.”

Warnock is no doubt going to have plenty of offers at the end of the season but if a challenge the magnitude of Aston Villa is something he will want to undertake at this stage if his career remains to be seen.

But Aston Villa could do a lot worse.
