Middlesbrough fans show their love for Adam Forshaw on Twitter; one makes particularly romantic gesture

Forshaw was the match-winner as Middlesbrough leap-frogged Burnley to top the Championship.

If Middlesbrough are promoted from the Championship next month, they will look back to that Tuesday night in April and think: that was the moment that did it.

Their opponents Reading had proved trickier than many had expected and, having surrendered a one-goal lead shortly after the break, it seemed as though they would end the evening in second place.

But just as third-place Brighton had done the night before, Boro snatched all three points at the death, with Adam Forshaw playing the role of Steve Sidwell to perfection.

The 24-year-old has endured a stop-start season so far, making only eight league starts, scoring once and assisting twice prior to Reading's visit to The Riverside.

But in picking out the bottom corner following a spot of bedlam in the penalty box, Forshaw suddenly became every Boro fan's favourite player.

There was nothing but love for the former Everton youngster on Twitter, with one supporter making an especially romantic gesture...

Sorry, I don't know how that got there... This is the right one...

Here's the best of the rest...
