Rangers today confirmed on their official website that star midfielder Harry Forrester won't be fit to face Celtic this weekend, having suffered a hairline fracture in his leg.
Forrester, 25, joined Rangers from Doncaster Rovers in January, and has become an Ibrox favourite having hit four goals in his last nine games for the club.
Having signed a new contract earlier this week, Forrester was seen as a player who could have a huge impact against Old Firm rivals Celtic this weekend, with Rangers gearing up for their vital Scottish Cup semi-final clash at Hampden Park.
However, disaster has struck for Rangers and Forrester, as the Gers confirmed on their official website earlier today that Forrester has suffered a hairline fracture in his leg, sustained against Peterhead in the Petrofac Training Cup final last weekend.
It's a huge blow for Rangers, and Forrester himself took to Twitter after the news was revealed, admitting that he was 'devastated' to be missing out on the biggest game of the season.
Devastated to be missing Sunday and longer. Thank you for all the messages! pic.twitter.com/8QXq7X91x5— Harry Forrester (@harry_forrester) April 13, 2016
Rangers fans then responded on social media, admitting how gutted they were that Forrester was missing out, but suggesting that his fitness ahead of next season is the most important thing, and wished him a speedy recovery after a monumental blow for the Gers.
