The left-back has been much improved this term at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur have had an excellent season and Mauricio Pochettino’s men remain in the hunt for the Premier League title with just Leicester City ahead of them in the current league standings.

Throughout Spurs’ campaign plenty of their players have been getting the plaudits.

The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier in particular have been praised extensively throughout the campaign but the club has also had plenty of top unsung heroes this term.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ today (13/04/16) former Tottenham Hotspur boss Gerry Francis spoke about the Tottenham team and was asked to name his unsung hero for the club this season:

“I think most of their players have had a bit of praise and publicity at some stage of the season.

“But I’m going for Danny Rose who I know has recently got the praise and the publicity, got his England cap. But he has been doing this for some time Danny now and really improved.

“For me it is not just his full-back defensive qualities it is his ability to get forward on that left-hand side has been a real key to Tottenham’s great play this season.

“His ability to get forward, his link-up play, his crosses into the box. He has been outstanding and he has been well praised in the last few weeks when asked about his England performance as well.”

There is no doubt that Rose has come on leaps and bounds under the guidance of Pochettino.

Even last season the left-back was finding himself regularly criticised as a weak link in the Spurs team and many Spurs fans lost complete patience with the player.

But he has developed into a consistently impressive performer and now looks like the current first-choice left-back for England for the European Championships in France this summer.
