Leicester City have qualified for the Champions League.
Former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o feels Leicester City are a sure bet to win the Premier League title this season and singles out manager Claudio Ranieri as the real star, GianlucaDiMarzio report.
The Foxes currently hold a seven point gap over Tottenham Hotspur in second place with five games remaining, and following the weekend results Champions League football has already been assured.
It has been an incredible journey for Leicester, and even more so for the likes of Jamie Vardy and Danny Drinkwater who have seen their league success prompt international call-ups.
Any one of a number of players can be attributed with Leicester’s success this season, yet Samuel Eto’o believes the real star of the show is boss Claudio Ranieri for putting it all together.
"I love Ranieri's Leicester, I like them a lot and they are a sure bet for the league title. Vardy? Excellent player, but Leicester's real star is Ranieri. He is incredible,” the former Chelsea striker told GianlucaDiMarzio.
Leicester’s next two matches are back-to-back home games against West Ham United and Swansea City, and if results go their way elsewhere then they could lift the Premier League title with three games to spare.
Considering 12 months ago the club were fighting to stay up after spending months at the foot of the table, the transformation has been nothing short of miraculous and Ranieri deserves so much credit.
The decision to appoint the former Chelsea boss last summer was questioned by supporters and pundits alike due to his time with the Greek national team, but he has proven all of his critics wrong.
