Arsenal target British talent as English stars look set to leave

The Gunners are already eyeing youngsters from Leicester City and Fulham for their ranks

Arsenal have stepped up their hunt for the latest British talent as their core of homegrown talent looks set to leave the club this summer, reports the Daily Mail.

The Gunners scouts have reportedly been told to identify British youngsters under the age of 23 as they look to keep in line with the Premier League’s homegrown rules.

They have already targeted Leicester City full back Ben Chilwell, while Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon is also a potential signing for them this summer, according to the Daily Mail report.

Their search for homegrown talent comes as their current crop of British talent in the first team set up could be set to leave the club.

Full back Kieran Gibbs looks the most likely to depart, with the Gunners ready to listen to offers for him from prospective buyers.

Similarly, Carl Jenkinson, who has spent two season at West Ham United, could be allowed to leave, while the futures of Theo Walcott , Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers are also under scrutiny.

There is also a question over Aaron Ramsey, who faces stern competition for the central role he craves at the club and may depart in search of that chance elsewhere.
