Liverpool have joined the race for Mahmoud Dahoud.

Liverpool are interested in signing Borussia Moenchengladbach sensation Mahmoud Dahoud, report Goal.com.

GianlucaDiMarzio.com also claim the Reds are in for Dahoud, as well as monitoring Rennes starlet Ousmane Dembele.

Dahoud, 20, has become a regular for the Bundesliga side this season, and is the first Syrian born player to feature in the Germany's top flight.

The youngster is a central midfielder who has scored four league goals this season as well as providing seven assists.

Goal.com report Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl describe Dahoud as an 'exceptional' talent, and is highly reluctant to sell the young talent.

German newspaper BILD reported last month that Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign the midfield star, and would even consider loaning him back for a year in an attempt to persuade the German side to sell.

It is claimed by Goal.com that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has identified Dahoud as a player who he could help become a superstar, and wants the Reds to make a move this summer.

Gladbach are currently in fifth place, three points behind Bayer Leverkusen in their battle for a Champions League place, and whether they are successful or not in this regard could have implications for the Premier League teams' pursuit of Dahoud.
