According to a report in the Guardian, Newcastle United youngster Kevin Mbabu has recovered from a long-term thigh injury and is now available for selection once again.
Mbabu has been out of action since January, after picking up the problem during the Magpies’ FA Cup match against Watford.
The injury curtailed the 20-year-old’s progress at St. James’ Park, soon after he broke into the first-team.
Mbabu has played five times for Newcastle this season, and he has looked comfortable when used in the senior squad.
The French defender has been forced to watch on as his teammates have slipped further and further into relegation trouble, but he is now back in full training and he could be thrown in at the deep end by Rafael Benitez.
With Daryl Janmaat currently a doubt for Newcastle’s crucial match against Swansea City at the weekend, Benitez is short of options at right-back.
And the Guardian suggest that Mbabu could be the player that Benitez turns to - should Janmaat be ruled out of the contest with injury.
