Ian Wright believes West Ham United will relish the prospect of facing Manchester United

West Ham United are due to face Manchester United on Wednesday evening at Upton Park.

Ian Wright has told The Sun that West Ham United’s players will be relishing the prospect of facing Manchester United in the FA Cup.

West Ham and Manchester United are due to meet at Upton Park on Tuesday evening, in the quarter-final of the cup competition.

The two sides could not be separated at Old Trafford, where they drew 1-1. On that occasion Dimitri Payet had given the Hammers the lead before Anthony Martial struck an equaliser.

Wright feels that West Ham will be looking forward to facing Louis van Gaal’s side again, though, especially after watching them get beaten by Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

“The West Ham players getting ready to play them tomorrow night in an FA Cup quarter-final replay will have watched Sunday’s game and will not be in the slightest bit scared by them,” Wright said.

“There is no cohesion, no drive, none of the old spirit of Manchester United left alive in this current team.”

West Ham go into the match in wonderful form, and their season has been very contrasting to the Red Devils’.

Slaven Bilic’s side look like a side who are moving forward at a rapid rate, while United appear to be regressing.

The winners of West Ham’s match against Manchester United will go on to face Everton in the FA Cup semi-final.
