Celtic legend Henrik Larsson selects his favourite ever Old-Firm derby match

Celtic and Rangers are set to meet in the Scottish Cup semi-final at the weekend.

Henrik Larsson has told Sky Sports that his favourite ever Old-Firm derby came when Celtic beat Rangers 6-2 back in 2000.

Larsson played a large volume of derby matches, and he had a wonderful scoring record in the contests.

However, he says that he looks back on Celtic’s 6-2 win against their Glasgow rivals with the most fondness.

"I know I scored a lot of goals in those games, but the 6-2 game (is favourite), also the 5-1 game (November 1998) and the ones at Hampden. But any game you win when you play against your biggest rivals are obviously the best ones,” the Bhoys legend said.

Larsson scored twice in that match, as Celtic stormed to success. The Bhoys took the lead when Chris Sutton hit the back of the net, before Larsson scored his brace and Paul Lambert and Stiliyan Petrov both got on the scoresheet.

Celtic and Rangers have met far more infrequently of late, due to the Light Blues' financial problems, but they are set to face off against each other again at the weekend.

The Bhoys will take on Mark Warburton’s side on the semi-final of the Scottish Cup on Saturday, and the winner will be able to take the bragging rights ahead of next term, when they will compete against each other again in the Scottish Premiership.
