The striker did not get on the scoresheet in the club's most recent game, but still made a major impression.

Stuart Pearce has claimed that it is a pleasure to watch Harry Kane after seeing the striker help Tottenham thrash Manchester United 3-0 on Sunday, The Sun reports.

The 22-year-old failed to get amongst the goals against Louis van Gaal's side but was constantly a handful for the opposition as he continually dropped back to create gaps in behind the United defence.

And speaking after Spurs' victory over van Gaal's men, the former England under-21 boss admitted that Kane's form since emerging at White Hart Lane has completely taken him by surprise - Pearce never selected the forward while he was in charge of the under-21 side - but insisted that he now loves to watch the striker in action.

"I didn't realise that he would go on to the things that he has done now," he told The Sun.

"He's got a real confidence and a real arrogance about his play and so level headed as well - it's a pleasure to watch him play and you can see his mind ticking in the game today.

"He's just waiting for that one opportunity to unload one."

Although Kane had no luck in front of goal against United, his performance would have surely pleased Mauricio Pochettino as it was his work-rate that often allowed for openings to be created, even if it was his teammates that would get to exploit those opportunities.

And the Spurs boss will be keen for the striker to put in several more performances similar to the one against the Red Devils as his form will undoubtedly be a key factor behind whether they manage to take the Premier League title race right down to the wire.
