The Chilean has been linked with replacing the Spaniard at Everton.
On the face of it, many would love to see the Chilean back in football. And many Evertonians may feel Bielsa is a suitably ambitious candidate for the Toffees to move forward.
But could there be a danger if Everton ever do actually move for the 60-year-old?
A danger that Bielsa could be a little too much like Roberto Martinez...?
Indeed, Bielsa is loved by football 'hipsters' - but what actual success has he to speak of?
He has some, sure, but very little. Martinez has won an FA Cup and managed in the Premier League for several years - two things Bielsa hasn't.
Where they are similar, though, is the fact both love to prioritise style over substance. Bielsa will play attacking, 'attractive' football - but will it be enough to ensure Everton actually win things?
The desire to get rid of Martinez may be strong on Mereyside right now. Would there be any point, however, if his replacement is very much the same in his approach?
