Empoli star Piotr Zielinski has been quoted by Goal as saying that he has held talks with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp about a summer move to Anfield.
The Reds beat Stoke City 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, and whilst Klopp is starting to develop a decent Liverpool side, he will be active in the summer transfer window as he seeks new additions.
One player recently linked with a move to Merseyside is Piotr Zielinski. As reported by the Daily Mail recently, Zielinski - currently on loan at Empoli from Udinese - is a top target for Klopp this summer having impressed in Serie A this term with four goals and four assists.
Now, the 21-year-old is set to feature for Poland at Euro 2016, building on his 13 caps he already has for his country - and Liverpool are moving to land him before he has a chance to impress on the international stage this summer.
The central midfielder has been quoted by Goal as saying that he knows Liverpool are interested, having held talks with manager Klopp about a summer move.
"There is a lot of truth in rumours about Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp is interested in me, we had some talks," said playmaker Zielinski.
Klopp has enjoyed great success with Polish players previously, as Lukasz Piszczek, Jakub Blaszczykowski and Robert Lewandowski were all key players at his former club Borussia Dortmund.
If the German does land Zielinski this summer, he will be hoping that the youngster follows the same path to stardom, but it seems that there is still some work to do before a deal is done for the Udinese-owned star.
