Micky Quinn comments on Newcastle’s survival chances

Sunderland and Norwich City’s defeats at the weekend have given Newcastle United a chance, suggests Micky Quinn.

Micky Quinn has taken to social networking site Twitter to suggest that Newcastle United can still escape the drop to the Championship at the end of the season.

Newcastle are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment and are in real danger of going down.

The Magpies lost at the weekend, going down 3-1 to Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Sunderland and Norwich City, both of whom are in the relegation battle, lost as well.

While the Black Cats were beaten 2-0 by league leaders Leicester City at the Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon, Norwich fell 1-0 to Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

Former Newcastle forward Quinn has taken to Twitter to claim that the Magpies can still avoid relegation to the Championship.

There is still a chance that Newcastle could survive the drop, but they are fast running out of games.

Moreover, the performances of Rafael Benitez’s are not too encouraging to suggest that the players can step up their game in the final weeks of the season.
