Liverpool will take on German club Dortmund at Anfield in the second leg of the quarter-final tie on Thursday evening.
The first leg of the tie at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund last week finished in a 1-1 draw.
Former Liverpool striker Owen believes that the match at Anfield on Thursday will end 1-1 after 90 minutes.
“Despite Liverpool’s excellent draw in Germany this quarter-final is still in the balance although it should be noted that only once in twelve previous European ties have Liverpool failed to proceed when they have drawn the first leg on the road,” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com. “I’m sure it will be another special European night at Anfield and I think it could go all the way.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: game to finish 1-1 at 13/2.”
It seems that Owen is reluctant to predict the winners of the tie, and it is indeed too close to call.
Dortmund have a much better team than Liverpool, but the Premier League outfit have home advantage.
Having got an away goal, the Reds will know that they can heap pressure on the Bundesliga outfit if they score first at Anfield.
Liverpool’s recent performances and results have been encouraging, and the fans should be confident of winning the tie and progressing to the semi-finals of the Europa League this season.
