Derby County fans react on Twitter to Johnny Russell's performance against Bolton Wanderers

Johnny Russell scored twice for Derby County last weekend.

Johnny Russell has taken the acclaim of Derby County supporters after his performance against Bolton Wanderers.

Derby beat Bolton 4-1, after putting in an excellent performance at the iPro Stadium, which strengthens their position in the play offs.

A number of Derby players were at the top of their games against Bolton, but Russell was arguably the standout performer.

The wide-man has not been particularly consistent this season, but his performance against the Trotters showed his class and Derby fans were quick to praise him on social media site Twitter.

Russell opened the scoring in the match with a screamer, before adding his second of the match late on.

Tom Ince and Jacob Butterfield also scored for Derby, as Darren Wassall’s side picked up an important three points.

The Rams now are stationed in fifth place in the Championship table - and they are seven points clear of Cardiff City, who are in seventh.
