Colin Hendry shares what he tells his Celtic friends about Rangers

Celtic V Rangers Reserves

Ibrox side Rangers will compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership next season.

Colin Hendry said on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 10:30am, April 10) that Celtic needed to have Rangers back in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers have won the Scottish Championship title this season and will play in the Scottish Premiership during the 2016-17 campaign.

This is the first time that the Gers will feature in the Scottish top flight since 2012, and it is certainly going to bring the glamour back into the game in Scotland.

Celtic and Rangers are the two biggest clubs in Scotland, and their rivalry is intense and known all over the world.

Former Rangers defender Hendry has suggested that the Bhoys did need the Gers back in the Scottish top flight.

“I have got friends who are Celtic supporters who say to me, ‘Ah, we don't want Rangers back’,” said Hendry on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 10:30am, April 10). “Of course, you want Rangers back.”

Rangers and Celtic will face each other in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow this coming weekend. It promises to be a hugely exciting and a fiercely competitive game of football.
