The former forward has backed the Liverpool duo to keep getting better in future.
The pair have started to build a deadly relationship for Liverpool in recent weeks, with a series of impressive performances in the side.
Both are currently key players in the side, with Coutinho in particular having stepped up on the big occasions this season.
That blossoming relationship will be key to the Reds’ hopes of challenging under manager Jurgen Klopp in future and Le Tissier has backed them to get even better with more playing time together.
“They’re two very good footballers,” he told Soccer Saturday.
“As a partnership, when you’ve got two players who are that good and they’re on the same wavelength, it’s a joy to watch.
“I think going forward, if they play the pair of them together then that partnership will only get better and better.”
Of course, much is likely to rest on whether Liverpool can keep Sturridge fit for the long term.
The striker has been plagued by injuries for a number of years but appears to have got over the worst of those in the second half of this campaign.
If he can now maintain that run of good health for the long term and continue building on his relationship with Coutinho also, there is no denying things are looking positive for Liverpool in future.
