The Reds were 4-1 winners against Mark Hughes' side on Sunday.
The Reds were in highly impressive form at Anfield at they ran out 4-1 winners over the Potters to move into 8th place in the Premier League table.
Goals from Alberto Moreno, Daniel Sturridge and a brace from Divock Origi, who was a half-time substitute, made it a comfortable win and capped off a fine few weeks for Liverpool.
It will leave them in confident mood for next week’s Europa League clash with Borussia Dortmund, and Aldridge says there were plenty of positives to take heading into that game.
Excellent 4-1 win, some big positives to take into Thursday's massive game.— John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) April 10, 2016
He was not the only former player impressed by the display either as Ian Rush also tweeted his approval, saying it was good to see the Reds’ forward players on form.
Manager Jurgen Klopp will now be hoping his side can be in similarly impressive form when they face his old side at Anfield on Thursday.
The game is finely balanced following a 1-1 draw in Germany, and his side will need to be at the top of their game to ensure it is they who progress to the semi finals of the competition.
