Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has told BBC Sport (18:49) that he was impressed with the performance of Dele Alli against Manchester United on Sunday evening.
Alli started the Premier League game at White Hart Lane and played for almost the entire match.
The 19-year-old midfielder played an important role in Tottenham’s 3-0 win in North London.
The England international scored the opening goal of the match in the 70th minute and had a good game overall.
Pochettino was impressed with the performance of the youngster against United and has spoken highly of him.
"Dele Alli is 20 tomorrow,” the Tottenham head coach told BBC Sport (18:49). "It was important for him, the first goal, and for the team, every opportunity he has he shows his real quality.
“He is very mature. He is like how he plays, outside, a very natural and spontaneous person, we are very happy with the way he behaves."
During his time on the pitch against United, Alli took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 70%, created two chances, won two tackles, won 17% of his tackles, and made three interceptions, two clearances and two blocks.
Tottenham are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 65 points from 33 matches, seven points behind leaders Leicester City.
