Sunderland failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League, as they went down 2-0 to Leicester at the Stadium of Light.
England international striker Jamie Vardy scored both goals for Claudio Ranieri’s side to take them one step closer to winning the league title.
Matched Leicester in all positions today but can't legislate for sloppy mistakes leading to both goals.! Van Aanholt is a liability #safc— michael gray (@mickygray33) April 10, 2016
How do @SunderlandAFC manage to break every strikers hoodoo/drought or help them achieve a milestone! Vardy, Whickham recently— Marco Gabbiadini (@marco_ten) April 10, 2016
Van Aanholt, who has been on the books of Sunderland since 2014, has had a mixed season.
Against Leicester on Sunday afternoon, the Netherlands international left-back took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 69%, created one chance, put in one cross, made three dribbles, won 22% of his tackles, and made three interceptions, six clearances and two blocks.
Sunderland are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
