The Saints are expected to lose several stars again in the transfer window.
The Saints have enjoyed another strong season under Ronald Koeman this season, currently sitting seventh in the table.
There is a fear that several of their big stars, such as Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama, could exit in the summer as has happened for several years.
Le Tissier though, believes the club may get away with it as no players have shone enough to warrant a big money move away.
“I think we might get away with it this summer,” he told Soccer Saturday.
“I don’t think any of the players have been that outstanding that one of the clubs above would nick the players.”
“I’m not sure there’s anyone who’s been that consistent to warrant a big money move. So he [Koeman] might just get away with it this summer.”
Keeping the stars players currently in the squad is likely to be key to keeping Koeman at the club also.
The Dutchman is yet to commit to a new deal at St Mary’s, and is arguably waiting for assurances that he will not have to commit to a rebuild again this summer.
That is a fair stance for him to take as well, with it hard to plan the long-term future of the club if such uncertainty surrounds the stars in your first team squad.
