Celtic striker sends a message regarding clash with Ibrox side Rangers

Celtic V Rangers Reserves

Ibrox side Rangers will take on Old Firm rivals Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup next weekend.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has told The Scottish Sun that he and his teammates are ready for the game against Rangers next weekend.

Ronny Deila’s side will take on Old Firm rivals Rangers in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow next weekend.

The Bhoys will head into the game against the Gers on the back of a 2-1 victory over Motherwell away from home at Fir Park in the Scottish Premiership.

Griffiths, who scored both goals in the 2-1 win against Motherwell on Saturday afternoon, has made it clear that he and his teammates are ready for the clash against Rangers.

“My focus is Rangers,” the Scotland international told The Scottish Sun. “Hopefully we can replicate the same result as last year.”

"It's always good to go into a Cup clash on the back of a victory,” added the 25-year-old striker. "We will have a good week of training and look forward to it.”

Celtic will be favourites to win against Rangers as they have the better team, but the Gers’ chances cannot be written off just yet.

Mark Warburton’s side have recently won the Scottish Championship title, and confidence among the players is high.

Rangers will take on Peterhead at Hampden Park in Glasgow in the final of the Scottish Challenge Cup this afternoon.
