Kirchhoff played under Guardiola at Bayern Munich before joining Sunderland in the January window.
Despite not playing all too often, the German ace managed to see first-hand the impact Guardiola had on the Bavarians and he assures reporters for the Sun how Manchester City are in for thrilling ride.
“Pep Guardiola is going to win this league and going to change this league like you’ve never seen before. He is going to build up one of the greatest teams and win this league without any trouble,” KIrchhoff explained.
“You are going to see a totally different way of football. For English football, it is one of the best situations. I think we won the World Cup because of Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.”
Guardiola rose to prominence during his debut season as Barcelona manager as he helped the Catalans become the first Spanish side ever to win an unprecedented treble.
A total of 14 trophies in four years came Barcelona’s way under his stewardship, and he has taken that success to Bayern Munich with two successive Bundesliga title wins and a German Cup success.
City are next in line for Guardiola after it became official in January that he is to replace Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the current season, and speculation has already begun over potential new signings.
Kirchhoff is adamant the Spaniard will be a massive hit at the Etihad Stadium, yet there is no denying there is work to be done and City will represent the talented manager’s most difficult job of his career to date.
