Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Jordan Henderson injury

Liverpool FC - Seeing Is Believing - Jordan Henderson

The Liverpool captain picked up a knee injury in the draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Jordan Henderson could be missing for up to eight weeks with a knee injury.

The Reds captain limped out of Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League, with Jurgen Klopp commenting afterwards that the injury could be a bad one.

Scans on Friday confirmed that to be true, revealing that he had isolated damage to his lateral collateral ligament.

That injury would usually see him absent for three months, as confirmed by the club’s official website, but the midfielder may return in six to eight weeks instead.

The news is naturally a blow to both his club side and England, with him now a major doubt for the Euro 2016 finals this summer.

Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter, with some suggesting it may signal the end of his career at Anfield.

Below are some of the best comments:

If Henderson does now miss the Euro 2016 finals this summer, then it will be interesting to see who is called up to replace him.

Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere looks likely to be selected if he can prove his fitness between now and the end of the season.

Many though, would argue that Henderson’s place should go to Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater following his superb campaign in their title challenge.
