The Hammers are currently pushing for a Champions League place after a first fine season under Slaven Bilic.
At present they sit sixth in the table after last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace saw them fall three points behind Manchester City in fourth and two behind Manchester United in fifth.
And that is where they will stay according to Nicholas, who has anticipated they will fail to overcome the two Manchester teams in the race for fourth place.
After predicting all of the three clubs remaining games for Sky Sports, he has the Hammers sitting on 63 points, two behind United on 65 and six behind City, who hold off the competition for that final Champions League place.
If West Ham are to stand any chance of making the top four, much will rest on the form of Dimitri Payet.
The Frenchman has been in sensational form since his arrival from Marseille in the summer, quickly becoming the star man of the side.
And if he can continue to star, as he did against Crystal Palace last week, there is nothing to stop Bilic’s side taking the top four race to the wire.
