Beagrie feels that the Italian could have done better to keep out Scott Arfield's first minute goal.
Leeds United lost earlier today, going down 1-0 at Championship leaders Burnley.
They actually played well in the game but Chris Wood was wasteful in front of goal and Burnley took advantage of an early goal to get all three points.
Scott Arfield smashed a strike in with his left foot into the bar bottom corner to give Burnley the lead with a decent strike.
The Leeds keeper did not look that at fault for the goal but the former Everton, Bradford and Scunthorpe winger believes Silvestri could have done better. He had this to say during the Sky Sports coverage of the game this weekend (09/04/16):
“I think he should do better. If you have a look at it there he has got his starting position but he doesn’t even thrust out his left-arm.
“When there’s a player on that side of the box he is only going to smash it in that bottom corner there.
“So he has got to react to that better.”
Silvestri came back into the Leeds United first-team this weekend after teenager Bailey Peacock-Farrell stepped up well whilst the Italian served a one game suspension against QPR.
The Leeds stopper has had his critics since arriving at Leeds, but not usually for shot-stopping – so this was something of a rarity.
Perhaps he was caught cold so early in the game, or Beagrie is being slightly over critical of the Leeds stopper.
