Report claims Pep Guardiola likes this Arsenal player

Arsenal youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is interested in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Guardiola, who is in charge of German giants Bayern Munich at the moment, has been impressed with 22-year-old, who can play as a winger or as a central midfielder.

“He also wants players who can interchange across the front positions in attack, which is why he likes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain,” states the report in The Sun.

“Oxlade-Chamberlain has impressed against Pep’s Bayern Munich team and the Spaniard believes the England star can play central midfield as well as a winger.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been on the books of Arsenal since 2011 and has a contract until June 2018.

The England international is only 22 years of age and there have been some injury problems, but there is a feeling that he has not progressed enough.

The former Southampton youngster is not guaranteed a place in the Arsenal starting lineup.

Working with Guardiola, who will take charge of City in the summer, will surely be tempting for a player as young and as talented as Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored one goal and created 19 chances in 22 Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season.
