Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, April 8) that he thought that Everton would be fifth or sixth in the Premier League table right now.
Everton are having a poor season in the Premier League and are in the bottom half of the table at the moment.
There is a good chance that the Toffees could failed to finish the 2015-16 campaign in the top 10.
In contrast, West Ham United are having a superb season and have a good chance of ending up in the top four.
Former Arsenal star Parlour has admitted his surprise at the disappointing campaign of Everton.
“I thought Everton would have a really good season in the Premier League, be sitting where probably West Ham are now, fifth or sixth,” said the former England international on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, April 8).
Everton have some very good players, such as Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku, John Stones and Seamus Coleman, but they have severely underperformed so far this season.
Manager Roberto Martinez has come under pressure, although winning the FA Cup could alleviate it.
The Merseyside outfit will take on Watford away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League this afternoon.
