Everton fans are not impressed by comments from Roberto Martinez this week.
Everton faced Watford at Vicarage Road today in a game that was played against the backdrop of fan disgruntlement from the away support.
Everton fans have grown increasingly frustrated with the work of manager Roberto Martinez and this week he seemed to go too far.
Martinez confirmed this week that the Everton left-back Leighton Baines had apologised to him after he was reported to have told the press this week that the Everton team ‘lacked chemistry.’
Many felt that Baines was being unfairly hung out to dry, as he was clearly just being honest about the mood at Goodison Park at the moment.
Everton fans were not happy and unfurled banners today reading ‘Baines Is One of Us’ and ‘Martinez Out’.
But BBC pundit and former player Trevor Sinclair is not backing Baines.
The former Manchester City and West Ham star told BBC Final Score:
"For me, it should be spoken about behind closed doors.
“That’s a big slur on the manager. Saying your side ‘lack chemistry’, that says you’re lacking team spirit."
Many have been backing Baines in the past week or so but it appears Sinclair is not of that opinion.
