Jack Wilshere is very confident of his place in the Euro 2016 squad.
Jack Wilshere has told Sky Sports that his end of season target is to make the England squad for the Euros in France this summer.
The Gunners midfielder also claimed that Roy Hodgson has told him what he needs to do to ensure his place:
"The end target is to get in the Euro squad. I spoke to the England manager, I know what I need to do to get in, and that is the target."
In response to a direct question asking if Hodgson's comments had been encouraging, his answer was emphatic:
"He was really encouraging. I know what he wants from me and he knows what he gets from me as well, so that is why he has been really positive and wants me involved. That is why I played in the qualifiers and we won every game. I know what I need to do to get in there and hopefully I will."
Wilshere has not kicked a ball all season for the North London outfit, although he did play 65 minutes for the U21 side last night.
He will have his work cut out to win back his starting spot for England, with Eric Dier and Dele Alli impressing in recent friendlies.
Arsenal have endured a topsy-turvy season, but they will be hoping that Wilshere's return to the first team set-up can give them a much-needed boost for the run-in.
