A steady manager who keeps teams in the Premier League with a fairly unfashionable brand of football, Pulis has his critics, but has proven himself as a master of stabilising teams in trouble.
However, a large section of West Brom fans are keen to see some change after a hit-and-miss season, with a more attractive brand of football wanted at The Hawthorns.
Many expected Pulis to be on the chopping block this summer, despite still having one year left on his deal - now though, Pulis could even sign a new contract to stay with the club even longer.
Fans took to Twitter after hearing the news to suggest that they won't be renewing their season tickets this summer if Pulis stays, and are concerned that he will be the man spending the club's money this summer, with the new Premier League TV deal coming into effect.
Others do believe that, given how Pulis has kept the club in the Premier League, he deserves his new deal, and even feel the club could have been relegated without him in charge.
Just think. More money than ever going into our club next season, and Pulis is the one who gets to spend it.— Andrew Daniels (@Baggiebhoy84) April 6, 2016
I thought having at least one more season of Pulis ball was enough to put me off but the latest news has filled me with dread... #WBA— Sam (@shodgson_) April 6, 2016
Two more years of Pulis. Two more years of awful football and, despite it saying he's looking at attacking players, no attacking intent.#wba— Adam Townsend (@Adam_Townsend) April 7, 2016
Giving Pulis a new contract is worrying but giving him more money is more worrying. Doesn't merit either, will damage our future. #wba— Lewis (@lewis_harbon) April 7, 2016
Not feeling like renewing my season ticket at all if its for another season under Pulis, no chance #wba— Tom (@TomGreenWBA) April 7, 2016
Hope pulis signs the new deal. Top manager! Without him we would of been relegated. #wba— Ryan (@ryry_j) April 7, 2016
Unpopular view but if Pulis is staying put I'm pleased #wba— Martyn Walters (@Martw90) April 7, 2016
