West Brom fans react on Twitter to Tony Pulis' reported contract extension

Tony Pulis Interview - 23/02/2014

Many West Brom fans are furious that Tony Pulis could stay at the club.

According to a report from The Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is in line for a new contract with the club this summer.

Pulis, 58, arrived as West Brom manager back in January 2015 as a replacement for Alan Irvine, and he not only kept the Baggies in the Premier League last season, but will do the same this term too.

A steady manager who keeps teams in the Premier League with a fairly unfashionable brand of football, Pulis has his critics, but has proven himself as a master of stabilising teams in trouble.

However, a large section of West Brom fans are keen to see some change after a hit-and-miss season, with a more attractive brand of football wanted at The Hawthorns.

Many expected Pulis to be on the chopping block this summer, despite still having one year left on his deal - now though, Pulis could even sign a new contract to stay with the club even longer.

Fans took to Twitter after hearing the news to suggest that they won't be renewing their season tickets this summer if Pulis stays, and are concerned that he will be the man spending the club's money this summer, with the new Premier League TV deal coming into effect.

Others do believe that, given how Pulis has kept the club in the Premier League, he deserves his new deal, and even feel the club could have been relegated without him in charge.
