The Shakhtar Donetsk striker scored his sixth goal in 16 games this season.
He was signed from Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk on a season-long loan deal which, according to the Daily Mail, included a condition to buy him for £6.5 million at the end of the spell if he impressed.
He struggled with the physical side of the English game and left the club in May without playing for the club.
This summer, after leaving Newcastle, he was linked with several teams but nothing happened he remains with Shakhtar – where he seems to be enjoying his football again.
Last night the Argentine hit the back of the net for the Ukrainian side as they won their quarter final first-leg of the Europa League against Portuguese side Braga.
He scored a fantastic chipped finish from close range after a good cross from the right-wing.
It was his second goal in the Europa League this season, following a strike against Schalke 04 earlier in the competition and followed a goal in an 8-1 win over Metalist at the weekend.
It was his sixth goal of the season but he is still not a regular, having played just 16 times for the side this campaign.
But when he does play, he certainly has a knack for scoring and Newcastle fans are left wondering why he was never gave a chance at St James’ Park…
