Griffiths has been superb for Celtic so far this campaign and has been banging in the goals for fun.
The 25-year-old Scotland international striker could end up scoring more than 40 goals in all competitions this season.
Former Celtic striker Jackson has said that he has been impressed with the performances of Griffiths this campaign. The former Newcastle United man, though, has criticised Celtic’s defence.
“I know Leigh Griffiths well,” Jackson told The Scottish Sun. “People say he’s gone a bit off the boil, yet it’s only two games he’s gone without scoring!
“However, that’s the measure of the high standard he has set. I just hope he’s not getting too uptight and too worked up about reaching the 40-goal mark for the season.
“Leigh is a brilliant striker and vital for Celtic. Mark my words, he’ll be scoring again very soon. In my opinion he’s out on his own for Player of the Year.
“If I’m being honest, I don’t think Celtic’s defence is fantastic. That’s a weak area for others to exploit. Middle to front they’re strong, but teams know they can get at Celtic.”
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 73 points from 32 matches.
Ronny Deila’s side are five points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and are still the favourites to win the league title this season.
The Glasgow giants will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Motherwell away from home at Fir Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
