The Irishman flew across his goal to prevent a rasping volley heading into the top corner.
The Frenchman has been a superstar in England since making the move and has earned a place back in the French national team off the back of his performances.
But he was not the only player who they brought in this summer and another of the arrivals left the French wizard frustrated in training today.
Check out this fantastic save from Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph from an exquisite volley from Payet:

Randolph arrived from Birmingham City in the summer to act as backup to current number one stopper Adrian.
First-team opportunities have been hard to come by since then but he has performed well for the club when covering the Spaniard in the case of selection, injury or suspension.
He also looks like being the number one keeper for the Republic of Ireland at this summer’s European Championships in France – after Newcastle United stopper Rob Elliot suffered a serious knee injury.
Irish fans will hope he shows some of this form in Payet’s homeland.
