Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has told LUTV that Burnley’s Sam Vokes is an exceptional striker.
Vokes has been nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award for March.
The 26-year-old striker scored as many as four goals for Burnley last month, as the Clarets continued their march towards a top-two finish in the Championship.
Leeds striker Mirco Antenucci has also been nominated for the prestigious award, having scored four goals in as many matches in March.
Midfielder Lee Frecklington of Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees have been nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award for March as well.
Evans believes that the prestigious award should be given to either Antenucci or Vokes.
"What a wonderful month Mirco Antenucci had, thoroughly deserves to be in that special group of players for the monthly award," Evans told LUTV.
"I think for me when you look at the four players, they all rightfully have big opportunities to win, but I think it will come to either Mirco or the boy Sam Vokes.
"I think he is an exceptional striker. We will see ourselves on Saturday. He has led the line all season, and he is a pivotal part of what Burnley are doing."
Interestingly, Burnley and Leeds will face each other at Turf Moor in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The Clarets, who are a point clear at the top of the league table at the moment, will head into the game as favourites.
