Former goalkeeper Shay Given also shared his views on the 2-2 draw.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side headed to Paris as underdogs for their Champions League quarterfinal clash on Wednesday.
In an end to end affair they had to fight back from 2-1 down to earn a draw as a mistake from Fernando came close to costing them against the French champions.
The two away goals they secured do however give them hope of progressing when the two sides meet for the second leg at the Etihad.
And Goater has confidently predicted they will get the job done at home after their success in Paris.
He was not the only one who suggested that the two goals they secured could be crucial to their hopes of securing a semi final place either, with Shay Given, Rio Ferdinand and Richard Keys all sharing their thoughts also.
A great result for @MCFC tonight, hopefully they can finish the job off next week. A big penalty save from Joe Hart— Shay Given (@No1shaygiven) April 6, 2016
I can't remember watching a C Lge game littered with so many mistakes. Amazing. Great night for City.— Richard Keys (@richardajkeys) April 6, 2016
Pellegrini in particular will definitely be keen to see his side secure their place in the last four in the second leg.
With the Premier League now looking out of their reach, he will be keen for any minor success he can manage before Pep Guardiola arrives in the summer.
