Sky Sports pundit’s response when asked if Manchester United can win against Tottenham

Matt Le Tissier says that Manchester United will lose to Tottenham Hotspur and miss out on a top-four finish to Manchester City.

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur will win against Manchester United this weekend.

Tottenham will take on the Red Devils at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The former Southampton attacking midfielder believes that Spurs will pick up all three points from the encounter in North London.

Le Tissier has also backed Manchester City to finish above United in fourth place in the Premier League table this season.

"I think given the way Spurs are playing this season, they go into the weekend as pretty hot favourites, although Manchester United can never be written off,” the former England international told Sky Sports.

"If you are asking me who I think would win I would probably say Spurs and I think Man Utd will probably be just shy of overtaking Man City for fourth Place.

"City still have plenty in their locker and if they look like they are getting threatened for fourth place they'll start pulling out some results as they did at Bournemouth last weekend.”

Tottenham are seven points behind leaders Leicester City in second place in the Premier League table at the moment.

The North London outfit will fancy their chances of winning against a United side who could miss out on the top four.

Louis van Gaal’s side are fifth in the standings, a point behind Manchester rivals City, who are fourth and occupy the final Champions League spot.

The Red Devils need to get something from the match at White Hart Lane in order to maintain their chances of a top-four finish, especially as in-form West Ham United also have similar ambitions.
