The Catalan giants recently scouted the midfielder after he impressed against their own youth side.
The La Liga giants have long been known for scouting the world and securing young talent to add to their famed La Masia academy.
And it appears Liverpool have a talent on their hands that the European champions are interested in.
19-year-old Brannagan caught their eye when the Reds’ youngster starred for his side against Barca’s academy in the UEFA Youth League.
They were impressed enough to return for a second viewing, watching him again when the Liverpool U21’s recently played Leicester City according to Sport.
Whether however, Liverpool would be willing to allow him to leave for the Nou Camp should an offer comes is as yet unknown.
He is understood to be highly rated by the Anfield hierarchy and signed a professional deal back in 2013.
He has also already made his debut in the first team debut, against Bordeaux back in September, and followed that up with a starting appearance in the Capital One cup clash with Bournemouth.
Both of those factors, as well as Jurgen Klopp’s open desire to develop young talent, would seemingly make an exit unlikely.
