Everton will take on Watford away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Owen believes that the Toffees will pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a narrow 1-0 victory.
“Watford are another side finishing the season with a whimper and they haven’t won in the league since mid-February,” the former Newcastle United striker wrote on Colossusbets.com. “Perhaps their FA Cup run, and their quarter-final defeat of Arsenal, have taken their minds off the job in hand and mathematically they aren’t safe just yet.
“But their opponents on Saturday have been underperforming all season and just how a side like Everton, with all the talent at their disposal, are sitting in 12th in the table with only 38 points, is little short of a disgrace, to be honest. And I’m a big fan of the side!
“At least their away form is decent – their 1-0 loss at Man Utd on Sunday was only their second on the road – and I take them to win a hard-to-call game 1-0.”
Owen seems to be critical of Everton’s performances and results this season, and many will agree with him.
The Toffees do have a squad capable of at least pushing for a top-six finish in the Championship, but they could end the season in the bottom half of the table.
Watford are virtually safe from relegation to the Championship at the end of the season, but they will be determined to win against Everton.
Roberto Martinez’s side will have to be on top of their game in order to pick up all three points at Vicarage Road.
