Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne kept Marco Reus quiet.
Nathaniel Clyne was handed one of the biggest tests of his career last night, and passed it with flying colours.
The England international right-back lined up opposite Borussia Dortmund wing wizard Marco Reus, who netted two against Tottenham in the home leg of the previous round.
Former Southampton ace Clyne handled the German superbly, and could do little about Mats Hummels' headed goal.
Liverpool earned a hard fought 1-1 draw at the Westfalenstadion, with Divock Origi scoring a crucial away goal.
Clyne signed last summer but appears as though he had been playing for Liverpool for years.
He made five tackles, more than the rest of the back four combined, with Lovren, Sakho and Moreno accumulating four.
Not all of Brendan Rodgers' signings for Liverpool worked out, but Clyne is one who appears to be the real deal, and his display may even have helped him nail down a starting spot for England at Euro 2016.
Here is a look at how Liverpool fans reacted to his performance...
I thought Clyne controlled Reus very well and made him look insignificant in the end. #LFC— Nicolas Photiades (@Phootie) April 7, 2016
